If everyone could see into the future, then car accidents wouldn't happen. Or would they? Maybe some people would still want an accident to happen, to avoid a greater catastophe. Accidents would still be an everyday occurrence, but we would know the consequences beforehand. Blame would be apportioned to an even greater extent, as it could be argued that it was even more avoidable. Unfortunately, instances like this report, from the New York press, may be even more regular, and than compensation claims would be even greater.

A Staten Island couple’s daily run turned into a horrific car accident this week. A 34 year old Brooklyn, NY resident was driving when she struck a 23 year old man and his 18 year old girlfriend. They couple was jogging along Hylan Blvd in Staten Island when The car crashed into them. Both joggers were rushed to Staten Island University Hospital where the young man was reported to have suffered chest and head injury. Unfortunately, his injury was fatal. The young woman suffered head injury as well, along with a broken ankle and leg. The driver was arrested at the scene of the accident. She was found with more than 50 prescription pills on her. She faces numerous criminal charges including felony vehicular assault, felony criminal possession of a narcotic and a misdemeanor for DWI.
